Killingtrinan Steading Conversion
Client: Private Client
Role: Principal Contractor
A derelict rural steading has been carefully reimagined into a unique contemporary holiday home, blending modern design with the character and heritage of the original building.
The project focused on retaining and celebrating elements of the existing structure while creating a high-quality, comfortable space suited to modern living.
One of the standout features is the bespoke in-situ polished concrete bench, which incorporates reclaimed red brick salvaged from the original steading walls. This thoughtful detail not only creates a striking architectural feature but also preserves a tangible connection to the building’s history, giving new purpose to materials that have been part of the site for generations.
The result is a distinctive conversion that respects the agricultural origins of the steading while delivering a contemporary holiday retreat full of character, craftsmanship and carefully considered design details.
