3b construction are making good progress on our latest biogas project which will produce 3.5 million m3 per annum of biomethane gas directly to the grid by utilising existing farm by products. The proposed development represents a multi-million pound investment by Crofthead Biogas which will provide the farming enterprise with a sustainable and continual source of income. At the same time this will produce a low cost and scalable form of renewable and low carbon heat which will help towards the Scottish Government’s target of deriving 30% of Scotland’s overall energy demand from renewable sources by 2020.
3b construction have been contracted to design and build the £3m civils element of the plant including the construction of two 40m diameter reinforced concrete digester tanks and associated reinforced concrete containment bund. 3b were selected as the preferred contractor on this project due to our experience of delivering large scale biogas projects to demanding programmes by utilising our experienced in house workforce and resources.
