Agricultural Construction
Dairy Parlours
3b construction has a team dedicated to the construction of dairy parlours ranging from small herringbone parlours through to large rotaries. Many parlours have been completed to date which range from re-work of existing systems to construction of complete new dairy facilities on green field sites.
Livestock Buildings
3b Construction has extensive experience in designing and constructing livestock buildings from simple bedded sheds to cubicle housing incorporating underground slurry storage. We can offer the complete package to our clients from the steel framed buildings to the supply and erection of all cubicles, gates and barriers etc.
Cubicle buildings of all types and sizes have been completed such as bedded buildings, suspended buildings, scraper passages, flushing passages etc.
Undergroud Slurry Storage
With heavy investment in modern formwork systems we are able to offer high quality reinforced concrete slurry storage in a very short timeframe at a competitive cost.
Using our dedicated shuttering teams we can provide all types of underground tanks from slurry transfer channels to large suspended tanks with capacities up to 2.5M gallon.
Various methods of slurry handling can be incorporated such as aeration, pumping, slalom tanks etc
Silage Clamps
All types of clamps can be constructed to suit your needs whether it is extensions to existing silage clamps or new covered clamps complete with effluent storage. Clamps varying from 2.4m (8’) walls to 4.2m (14’) walls or higher can be catered for.
Clamps have been constructed to store various materials including silage, maize and various feeds. Effluent storage can be provided in either shuttered reinforced concrete tanks or precast concrete tanks.
Slurry Towers
Designed to BS 8110, BS 8007 and BS 5502 part 50.
Grade C40 concrete to base and walls.
300mm thick reinforced concrete walls.
Hydrophilic water bar to all construction joints.
Galvanised steel access ladder and platform.
Bauer twin valve tanker connection.
Other items such as reception pits, slurry pumps, jetter kits etc. can be provided as required.
Advantages of reinforced concrete slurry towers:-
Design life of 60 years compared with 30 years for steel towers.
Tank can be backfilled therefore allowing slurry to be easily stirred from the top.
Small impact loads will not affect reinforced concrete tanks in the same way as the glass coating is affected with steel tanks.
Large capacity tanks up to 2M gallons can be constructed at very competitive prices.
Cast-In-Situ Reinforced concrete slurry towers do not rely on steel wires maintaining their tension over a long period of time.
Cover to reinforcing is considerably more than with pre cast concrete slurry towers.
Cast-In-Situ tanks are round and not made up using lots of straight pieces as with pre cast concrete tanks therefore slurry is easier managed.
Many fewer joints with Cast-In-Situ tanks and no reliance on adjacent concrete panels being accurately aligned in order to achieve a water tight structure (fresh concrete poured against previously poured concrete).
Concrete roofs can be provided if required.
