Southfield Park

DESCRIPTION 3b construction in association with Crallan and Winstanley Architects have spent 18 months planning and designing this developement. Southfield Park has a superb location in the centre of Scotland’s designated book town and was the original site for the Wigtown show. A variety of different home types are planned for this important development ranging from semi detached townhouses to large family homes all complimented by landscaped surroundings.
LOCATION Wigtown, which has been a Royal Burgh since the 12th Century, is a small market town sitting slightly inland at the head of Wigtown Bay. Served by one local primary school, the older children attend the secondary school in Newton Stewart. The town was a major commercial centre for Wigtownshire up until the 20th century and is also of significant religious interest as a historical stronghold for the covenanters but principally as the reputed site of a judicial drowning of two women in the late 1600’s who refused to recant their anti Episcopalion views. Today Wigtown is best known as Scotland’s Book Town and the area has seen significant regeneration over the last ten years. Southfield Park is the former home of the Wigtown Agricultural show and the site of our development, this will be very important in the town’s growth.
ENVIRONMENTAL At 3b the latest developments in energy efficiency are taken very seriously to ensure homeowners can enjoy lifestyles within a modern and well designed environment that is economical to run and a pleasure to live in. Information on which house types will feature which technologies will follow as soon as details have been finalised but the products to be selected from will include, Ground Source Heat Pumps, Solar Panels, Grey Water Harvesting, Underfloor Heating, Wood burning stoves, Whole House Ventilation and Air to Air Heating. These initiatives reduce energy bills and reduce wastage of non renewable energy resources helping to fulfill 3b Construction’s commitment to sustainable development. Take a look at our information pages dedicated to the environment and sustainability. We want to build houses that make people sit up and take notice.
