Our Technical Services department will work closely with customers Architect throughout the design process, from initial meetings reviewing feasibility and determining main architectural and structural requirements, through to final fabrication and site issue drawings. This ensures that our customers vision for their houses is maintained and achieved at all times, with any necessary changes being discussed and agreed before proceeding.
We will provide at the earliest stage possible, all information required to accompany the Building Warrant application in the form of design drawings and calculations, this ensures that the supplied Timber Frame and components will accurately comply with the Approved plans and specifications.
Every house we produce is a fully engineered product, with our designs assessed and certified by independent Structural Engineers. We can arrange for full SER Certification to be carried out if required, again by a firm of independent Civil and Structural Engineers
Using modern methods of construction, we aim to fabricate and assemble as many components off site as possible, this allows us to ensure the highest level of accuracy in controlled factory environments.
We are currently undertaking a substantial investment in the latest Framemaking and computer controlled woodworking machinery to allow us to further enhance the consistency and range of our manufactured products.
We are implementing the manufacture of ‘semi-closed’ panel production on a number of projects, this system will provide to site a fully insulated and sealed panel with a pre-formed service zone, allowing ease of routing for services before site fixing of plasterboard. This will also assist with compliance with current air tightness requirements of Building Standards.
From our centralised manufacturing and stores facility we can schedule material deliveries to site on a just in time basis, this reduces our environmental impact by minimising material waste and limiting the amount of road journeys.
Timber Frame components are strong but relatively light in weight, this making them particularly suitable for delivery to the remote sites typical in South West Scotland.
The accuracy of our Timber Frame components and quality of information supplied with each delivery to site ensures that all items fit together exactly as intended. This speeds up the erection sequence whilst being less dependant on skilled site labour, typical houses being weathertight in less than 5 days.
